At this point the Cape Cod <br /> Commission wound have sixty o') days in which to conduct <br /> public hearings and gather input on the nomination. After <br /> this time period the Commission would vote to either reject <br /> or recommend. If recommended the nomination would proceed <br /> to the Barnstable County Assembly of Delegates for a <br /> process of up to sixty o) days. The Assembly will also <br /> conduct .public hearings in this regard. The Assembly will <br /> el.ther opt to return the nomination to the Cape Cod <br /> Commission to be restudied, or agree to designate the Town <br /> of Mashpee as a District of Critical Planning Concern. <br /> The Town would then have twelve (12) months in which <br /> to develop implementing regulations . It would be possible <br /> to extend this time period ninety (9 ) days, by approval of <br /> the Cape Cod Commission. <br /> Implementing regulations would have to be approved by <br /> the voters of the Town of Mashpee. If approved, said <br /> regulations would them become part of the Town Bylaws and <br /> would govern all future development . At this point both <br /> the moratorium and DCPC process would end. <br /> The C airman stated she would be meeting with the <br /> Board of selectmen on June loth at which time she would <br /> request that they agree to either co-sponsor the nomination <br /> or to provide a comment letter as to their position on the <br /> DCPC matter, as required by the Cape Cod Commission. <br /> The Chairman then entertained a motion to close the <br /> Public Hearing in this matter. <br /> MOTION: Dennis Balzarini made a Motion to close the <br /> Public Hearing in the matter of DCPC; which Lotion wa-s duly <br /> seconded by Lee Gurney and so voted unanimously. <br /> The Chairman them thanked everyone concerned for <br /> attending the Public Hearing and assured therm their <br /> comments and concerns would be taken into consideration. <br /> The Chairman them declared a five-minute recess .
