Site Plan Review Cape Southport Associates LLC PGA Lane, Driver Lame, Pebble Beach Avenue Approval of Tree Removal The Town Planner provided copies of notes from Mary McCormick of the Southport Landscape Committee- References were being made to portions of the Southport Plan indicating those trees of concern. Some o-f the trees are dying due to root damages caused by grade changes. The Town Planner and the Consulting Engineer had made an on-site inspection a-nd discussed those trees that are to be removed. It was agreed that the large white pine tree next to the driveway at Building 185, on Pebble Beach Avenue should be removed; to which the Board agreed with the stipulation that two replacement trees are to be planted. The Consulting Engineer has suggested that upon removal of said tree the driveway be straightened out . There is a broken white pine tree, damaged during a storm, at the beginning to PGA Lane that should be removed for safety reasons; to which the Board agreed. There is a unit at the end of PGA Lane where a retaining gall has been- constructed that does not show on the plan and runs quite close to the driveway in order to save an existing tree. The Town Planner suggested this large pitch pine tree be removed for safety reasons; to which the Board agreed. The Chairman recognized Bob Quincy who inquired why there a-re so many problems with the trees and why a metal r wooden grid systems have not been constructed. The Town Planner spoke to the size of the tree wells not necessarily suitable for the va,rious size trees/root systems . The Town Planner made re,feren ce to #5 and 6 PGA Lane. e made reference to a tree that has fallen as a result of damage caused by equipment, be removed and replaced. H also mentioned there was supposed to have been snow fencing placed around the trees for protection and to preVent such damage caused by equipment . No snow fencing remains on the site at this time.. He suggested the Board require snow 15
