Site Plan Review <br /> Cape Southport Associates LLC <br /> PGA Lane, Driver Lame, Pebble Beach Avenue <br /> Approval of Tree Removal <br /> The Town Planner provided copies of notes from Mary <br /> McCormick of the Southport Landscape Committee- References <br /> were being made to portions of the Southport Plan <br /> indicating those trees of concern. Some o-f the trees are <br /> dying due to root damages caused by grade changes. <br /> The Town Planner and the Consulting Engineer had made <br /> an on-site inspection a-nd discussed those trees that are to <br /> be removed. It was agreed that the large white pine tree <br /> next to the driveway at Building 185, on Pebble Beach <br /> Avenue should be removed; to which the Board agreed with <br /> the stipulation that two replacement trees are to be <br /> planted. The Consulting Engineer has suggested that upon <br /> removal of said tree the driveway be straightened out . <br /> There is a broken white pine tree, damaged during a <br /> storm, at the beginning to PGA Lane that should be removed <br /> for safety reasons; to which the Board agreed. <br /> There is a unit at the end of PGA Lane where a <br /> retaining gall has been- constructed that does not show on <br /> the plan and runs quite close to the driveway in order to <br /> save an existing tree. The Town Planner suggested this <br /> large pitch pine tree be removed for safety reasons; to <br /> which the Board agreed. <br /> The Chairman recognized Bob Quincy who inquired why <br /> there a-re so many problems with the trees and why a metal <br /> r wooden grid systems have not been constructed. <br /> The Town Planner spoke to the size of the tree wells <br /> not necessarily suitable for the va,rious size trees/root <br /> systems . <br /> The Town Planner made re,feren ce to #5 and 6 PGA Lane. <br /> e made reference to a tree that has fallen as a result of <br /> damage caused by equipment, be removed and replaced. H <br /> also mentioned there was supposed to have been snow fencing <br /> placed around the trees for protection and to preVent such <br /> damage caused by equipment . No snow fencing remains on the <br /> site at this time.. He suggested the Board require snow <br /> 15 <br />
