DC PC
Vote of Planning Board Members
The chairman provided copies of the- .current draft
document dated July 6, 2005. She reported upon discussion-s
with Martha Hevenor, cape Cod Commission. The Grater
Resource Staff has reviewed the draft and made two
suggestions for Plann-ing Board consideration. One being
that rather than designate the entire Town of Ma%shpee for
the water resource district, consideration be liven to the
removal of the southeastern portion of Ma-shpee that drains
directly into the ocean.. The reason being to confine the
nomination to the Popponesset Bay and Waquoit Bay
watersheds. The question being how those boundaries would
be delineated.
The Town Planner suggested a meets and bound's
description.. He also noted that a large portion of the
white area on the map is Zone it for the public water
supply well at Rock Landing that should be included in the
protected area . He also pointed out those areas in the New
Seabury area that would be exempt from the DCPC.
The chairman Volunteered to further pursue this
matter.
The second sugest-ion is in reference to Item 1 ,
proposed exemptions. The Commission ha!s suggested this
question should be answered by saying that what should be
exempted is any development that generates less than two
thousand .2, 00 ) gallons per day of new wastewater flow.
This would tie the allowed uses to wastewater flow and
encompass everything currently listed.
After some Board discussion- it was agreed- to
forward with the nomination as drafted and addressing the.
issue of exemptions by way of implementing regulations .
The Chairman reminded the Board of the DCPC nomination
requirement to include Selectmen comments when they are not
a party to the nomination. The Selectmen can choose to
agree to be a co-sponsor of the DCPC nomination, provide a
letter of support, or Letter in opposition.
The Town Manager has indicated to the Chairman that
this matter is on the agenda for action at the Selectmen' s
16
