t <br /> Page 8 of 11 <br /> Ed Larkin of Mashpee says that he is pleased about the new idea of responsibility <br /> sharing between the ZBA and the Planning Board. He also applauds the Board's action <br /> in regard to the canal Auto Body Shop proposal. He brings up the subject of trip <br /> generation and how it relates to certain businesses. Discussion ensues with explanation <br /> by Torn and Jim. Grandfatheredbuffered issues are again brought up. <br /> Tony Feragarno of Mapee presents questions about trip generation and how it would <br /> relate to hardware stores. He has concerns about staying in business in low intensity <br /> commercial districts. Questions whether the current trip generation guidelines are <br /> realistic or reasonable. Specialty stores, wholesalers, furniture stores and banks are <br /> also mentioned. <br /> Chairman asks if there are any other questions comments. <br /> Tony Feragarno brings up the topic of paring between buildings and internal roadways; <br /> he also mentions the function of buffers. <br /> Jim mentions concerns about areas where there are no buffers. <br /> Chairman agrees with these concerns. Dennis asks for suggestions to amend the <br /> article: Some discussion ensues. Torn states that the article already provides for buffers <br /> in the c-3 zones 1 go feet from any residential zones). Jim thinks that there should still <br /> be a buffer, especially on Old Barnstable Road. Discussion continues about parking by- <br /> laws. Idea is presented to eliminate the entire section . Chairman asks for a show of <br /> hands of how many people are in support of this article as written. <br /> Motion is made by Dennis to do the following in Section 4, to eliminate C-3 district <br /> language, changing the.wording in subsections 4 and 6 which would replace "Planning <br /> Board" with "special permit granting authority" and to strike out the entire Section 6. <br /> Motion seconded by Beverly and carries unanimously. <br /> Chairman entertains a ,notion to end the public hearing at this point. <br /> p P <br /> Motion is made by Dennis to close the public hearing; it is seconded by Beverly and <br /> carries unanimously. <br /> Chairman opens the (closed ,meeting for new business at 96.05 p.m. <br /> Richard Halpern, Mashpee resident, states a public complaint about Article 26. He <br /> wonders why Great Neck.Road and Pimilco Pond Road were named scenic roads. <br /> • Chairman explains that the Board's reasoning was that the size of the trees and the <br /> proximity of the trees to the road lends to the historic, scenic character of the road. <br />
