Modification to DRI Decis- ion, Flagship Storage <br /> Facility, - The Town Planner explained the modification was <br /> in reference to open space. Request has been made to the <br /> Cape cod Commission to offer a monetary sum ( o., o00. oo) to <br /> be placed in es- crow in lieu of donating open space. There <br /> are title issues 'Involved with the one-acne parcel being <br /> proposed for donation as conservation land. <br /> Fire chief to cape cod commission regarding "Augat" <br /> Self Storage Facility - The Town Planner read a portion of <br /> the letter, "...My major concern is the increase of the <br /> aggregate fire load that this project will add to our <br /> community. ProJects of this nature continue to shift. the <br /> fire risk in our community from- rural hazards to suburban <br /> fire hazards . The Mashpee Fire and Rescue Department are <br /> staffed to address rural-type fires . If a fire were to <br /> break out in a structure as proposed, mutual aid from at <br /> least two (2) of our neighboring communities would be <br /> needed. In an attempt to enable a quicken regional <br /> response from the Cotuit Fire Department and the Sandwich <br /> Fire Department to this proposed occupancy, it is my home <br /> the Commission will require the Applicant to fund the <br /> -- - in - a-llation o f -traf.fic pre-emission--devices- at -the -corner- - <br /> -of Routes 28 and 130 and at the corner of Route 130 and <br /> Great Neck Road North. Additionally, it is my hope that <br /> the Applicant would fund at least one pre-emission emitter <br /> apparatus triggering device for each community." "...I hope <br /> the commission requires a separate dedicated paved roadway, <br /> possibly using Mashpee Neck Road/Simons Road layout. I am <br /> concerned that the ingress of fire apparatus to the <br /> proposed structure by way of the current driveway may be <br /> impeded by one of the numerous vehicle's accessing the <br /> existing building. " Mashpee Fire and Rescue Department, <br /> dated July 29, 2003, signed by George T . Baker, Fire Chief, <br /> regarding Written cormuent, Augat Self Storage Bays . <br /> It is the Town Planner' s understanding that Applicant <br /> has agreed to all Fire Department concerns during technical <br /> review. <br /> Jurisdictional Determination Decision/New Seabury DRI <br /> - The Town Planner reported. the cape cod commission has <br /> voted to claim jurisdiction over both versions of the <br /> project. <br /> The cape cod Commission has 'accepted the Kirsner Trust <br /> Subdivision DRI referral. <br /> 11 <br />
