References were made to "Site Plan Lots 80 & 81, Noisy Mole load, Mashpee,
M , dated October 2. 20 " which Applicant just received today.
Attorney Lasordo understands that the Board will not be- able to act on this matter
this evening as they have not had the opportunity to review said plan. He reminded the
Board that basically there are two house lots subject to a flood covenant. This is the
Sarakumit property located on Noisy Hole Road. The Planing Board covenant has been
released. Evidence of groundwater levels have been provided to the Board and have
deterrnined that the groundwater at its highest level grad is 3 11 -f1. above the worst lot,
and -t. above the higher lot.
Attorney Lasordo pointed out that there are houses located on other lots within the
subdivision that are lower that the two lots under discussion. There has been some
flooding to the area during rainstorms.
Applicant9-s engineer has determined the effects of building. houses On the
property. There would be no real changes to the grounds, they will basically remain the
sane. Some grading has been done in an attempt to move the water to the back rather
than into the street. There is no free run from the street into the drainage . areas located. at
the back of the lots. The street dips down and there is a hole in the road between the two
lots and this is where flooding occurs. Moving the water is really not going to help the
situation. The water should be contained and put into the drainage basin as a way to
manage runoff from the house.
Mr. Rowley explained that this process would prove to catch the roof water. He
asked about the bottom elevation of the facility that is taking the drainage water, to be
sure that it is above high ground water. He asked for a copy of Mr. Landers- Caul e is
calculations.
Attorney Lasordo responded that the only calculations available are on the plan.
Mr. Rowley noted -the only calculation on the plans indicates the roof runoff~
The Chairman requested further -description detail of the drainage facilities be
provided in writing for Planing Board review.
There was some question as to treatment of the groundwater. The Town Planner
noted that the Zoning Bylaw requires that groundwater cannot go directly into the ground
from the roof, it must go through the grass.
The Town Planer reminded the Board that the original requirement-ofthe
flooding covenant- was for the potential of groundwater flooding the house.
r. Rowley stated that previous experi
fience indicates that the runoff in this area is
generated by a larger area than just the lot. He requested that elevations for the roof
runoff` collection system be provided. He would like to know how far above the
0
