involved. There is concern regarding confusion with John Ewer Road in Sandwich, and
relatives and 'Visitors getting lost and confused. She also raised concerns for safety issues
such as delays in getting the emergency vehicles through.
She and her neighbor are proposing the name of Peters Path, as this is Iris.
Sh vom's family name. She is suggesting that the entire road be re -named Peters Path as
it leads into the pond as well.
Ms. Shwom then provided said road name suggestion in writing- with both
signatures as- there are only two people living on the road.
The Town Planner informed the Board that he had sent an e-mail to both the
Town Clerk and the Deputy Fire Chief in this regard. Deputy Hamblin is aware of the
existing Amy Brown Road', also known as Peters load. However, if said road will never
officially be known as Peters Toad, he has no objection -to the proposed name of Peters
Path. Debbie Dami has not responded to the proposed name change as .she is away at the
moment.
Ms. Shwom mentioned that her grandfather has served 0-years of public service
to the community and has made many contributions. to further technology.
Thomas Mayo stated that his only concern is that this request has not gone before
the Address Committee, which is where the Town Clerk would give her input, as well as
the Assessors, himself as the mapper, and the Deputy Fire Chief input. He recognized
that the most important input is from the Deputy Fire Chief He also explained that the
concern for similar road name carries into play whe n there is mutual aid situation an
emergency vehicles respond from surrounding towns and are not as familiar with the
names/roadways.
However, he has no objection if the road is known as Amer Brown load in the
records and there would be no confusion with the name Peters.
s the Board appeared to be somewhat hesitant, the Town Planner suggested that
the Public Hearing be continued -in order to allow the Board to collect definitive input
from the Town Clerk and fuxther research on the road name Peters Road.
d.
The Town Planner reviewed the subdivision files and found that all but one refer
to the road as Amy Brown Road, and. one that refers to -Array Brown Road aka Peters
Road).
MOTION; Dennis Balzarini made a Motion to continue the Public Hearing in
this matter to October 17, 2007 at :1 o p.m.; which Motion was duly seconded by Myrna
Huey.
91
