i <br /> The suggestion is to utilize the Mashpee landfill <br /> property for disposal of dredgin' g materials . The Waterways <br /> Commission has contacted thO Barnstable County Health <br /> Department and U-Mass to request testing of the property. <br /> It was found that Groundwater Analytical in Bourne conducts <br /> such testing, however the Waterways Commission has not <br /> inquired as to cost and sampling requirements. <br /> There are concerns regarding salt leaching into the <br /> ashpee River. <br /> The Chairman stated she would continue to follow <br /> through on this matter with the Blue Ribbon Committee. She <br /> suggested Mr. Hanks be invited to appear before the <br /> Committee for further discussion. <br /> The Chairman then made reference to an article that <br /> appeared in the Falmouth Enterprise, "Comment Period <br /> Extended on Dredge Spoils Plan" . The state has made a <br /> suggestion to convert a portion of Buzzard' s Bay, off the <br /> coast of Chapoquoit Beach, into a dredge spoils disposal <br /> site, which is currently being reviewed and has been <br /> extended to February 2 4 '. <br /> There was brief discussion regarding nitrogen and <br /> navigational benefits to dredging the Diver, as well as the <br /> overall benefits to the River. <br /> Discussion - DCPC Recommendations 3-9 <br /> The Chairman reported that the Board of Health has <br /> decided to take no action on making changes to the Board of <br /> Health regulation at this time. <br /> The Conservation Commission is working on the Wetlands <br /> Regulation, as well as pursuing other suggested changes . <br /> #3 -- Stor water Management Zoning Bylaw ^ Information <br /> has been provided by the Consulting Engineer in this <br /> regard. <br /> There was discussion regarding a recommendation t <br /> maintain more of the natural vegetation on individual lots <br /> in an attempt to address nitrogen concerns. <br /> The Town Planner suggested this be done by amending <br /> the bylaw to limit clearing to a certain percentage of the <br />
