 M
•
The Chairman called this ratter to order and
recognized Ron Bonvie.
Planning Board Member Harvey Cohen did not sit on
this matter due to possible conflict of interest as he is a
resident -of Southport . )
Mr. Bonvie reported that Clubside Conn is a street at
Southport that has not yet been built . The developer would
prefer that this road not be constructed. He spoke to the
possibility of the existence of a vernal pool in the area.
The Conservation Agent and an environmental expert
have inspected the area -arid agreed that this might be a
vernal. pool, and that it would to e: another two or three
months time to mare this determination.
The Conservation Agent has suggested this area be
considered a vernal pool and not wait for further
determination decisions.
Mr. Bonvie requested approval of construction of four
(4) quadruplex units. said design would be one hundred and
four 104 feet away from the possible vernal pool area.
This would require however, the removal of five large
pine trees . Planning Board Members Dennis Bal arini and
Myrna Huey made a.n inspection of this area and agreed to
the removal of two (2) of these trees .
The current plan does not indicate the temo.val of arty
of the trees' . Mr. Bonvie would prefer to make the design,
and meet with the landscape committee. An arborist has
been hired to make an inspection of the trees and determine
their health currently and after/during construction.
written report will them be submitted to the Planning
Board. A decision will then be made regarding the fate of
the trees . Every attempt will be made to preserve the
trees.
Mr. Bonvie reported the Zoning Board of Appeals has
conceptually approved the plans for the four quadruple
units . After the developer has met with the Town Planner,
landscaping committee, and the arborist, he will submit a
new set of plans to the Planning Board.
It was the consensus of the Plan-ning Board t
encourage Mr. Bonvie to pursue this matter.
