i
i
interest and some knowledge in landscaping. Anyone in the
community with are interest is landscaping is welcome t
join the committee.
Lee Gurney asked how the Landscape Committee
communicates with the residents.
Ms. Mc orm_ic -stated the Landscape Corrunittee submits
a report to the monthly newsletter and meeting minutes are
posted on the bulletin boards and everyone is encouraged to
attend Advisory Board meetings .
It was agreed that both Southport matters, Clubside
Court and Landscape Committee discussion would be continued
to the March 15, 2006 meeting.
(The Consulting Engineer, Charles Rowley, arrived at
the meeting at this point, 8 : 45 p.m,, )
At this point the Chairman declared a fire-minute
recess. The March 1, 2006 Planning Board Meeting was
reconvened at p.m.
Consulting Engineer Report
stor water Runoff to the Mashpee River
From Public ways
Mr. Rowley reported he had made a site visit to the
area around Ma-shpee River at Route 130 as r.eques, ted by the
Planning Board. He inspected the points of discharge off
the road in the vicinity of the river.
He walked the entire site along Route 10, to the
Herring Run, and below to the parking/walkway areas . There
are two maim points along Route 10 that were pared
waterways at one time and discharge just above the Herring
Run, which is no longer the case. The area on both sides
of Route 130 is now pared with a continuous Cape -Cod berm.
Both of the old waterways have been filled in. The low
point -is currently approximately one hundred 100) feet to
the east . No attempt has been made to control the existing
paged waterway that flows over the bank and underneath the
wooden walkway to the vegetated slope.
It was apparent to Mr. Rowley that some work had been
done in this area recently, which he discussed with the DPW
Director, who confirmed st rm atermediation had been done.
11
