Having made an ernest effort to present this land to the <br /> Town Land Bank for purchase, and those efforts having been denied <br /> by the -Town, Mr.. Teary stated he feels this land will not be <br /> preserved as open space in perpetuity. The Cape Cod Commission <br /> has regulated that seventeen 17 acres this parcel remain in <br /> a natural state, the eight remaining acres of this parcel <br /> being available for purchase. <br /> Should a supermarket project be developed, a massive border <br /> of vegetation would be required by Conservation. Eve effort <br /> would be made t work i � <br /> n cooperation with -the Town Departments in <br /> an attempt to create a quality project. <br /> In conclusion, Mr. Terry addressed the Planning Board <br /> requesting consideration and denial of the Article beingproposed <br /> posed <br /> which would, if passed, result in a change of zoning. <br /> Having been duly recognized by the Chairman, the Town <br /> Planner addressed the issue of Assisted Living as introduced b <br /> the previous speaker. <br /> When the Article was originally drafted for the Planning <br /> Board, there were no AssistedLiving <br /> projects allowed within the <br /> Town. That particular section of zoning was created after the <br /> fact, which is why the currently proposed Article makes no <br /> mention of Assisted Living projects. However, Town Counsel has <br /> advised amendment on 'Town Meeting floor to include mention of <br /> Assisted Living projects is possible. <br /> Mr. Fudala reminded everyone that there are properties other <br /> than the Old Barnstable Road parcel involved and which would' also <br /> be affected. <br /> The Chairman them recognized William O'Brien, who stated he <br /> does not understand all of the intricacies of the r osed <br /> Article -1 C- P <br /> '- He also made mention of the fact that <br /> it appears the majority of citizens oppose the- construction of a <br /> Shave' s Supermarket . He inquired as to environmental inpacts to <br /> the residential area should a supermarket project be approved. <br /> The Chairman interjected the purpose of this Public Hearin <br /> is not a forum for Sha ' su g <br /> Supermarket.. � citizens 1 elks have concerns <br /> in this regard, they should be voiced through the regulatory <br /> process currently before the Cape Cod Commission. <br /> The Chairman recognized Linda Pletcher, who spoke to <br /> addressing Mashpee l s future, which should begin now. <br /> The Chairman recognized Dorothea Peterson, Southport <br /> resident, who urged the Planning Board to support the proposed <br /> Article. <br /> The Chairman recognized Paul Tedesco, who clarified this <br /> _12. <br />
