Road Base <br /> a. when road sub base has been cut or filled to proper subgrade in <br /> preparation for gravel, <br /> b. after road base gravel has been placed and is in the process of being fine <br /> graded. Road base gravel to be 3" minus aggregate in conformance with <br /> the Massachusetts Highway standard for road base gravel. Other <br /> materials such as dense blended crushed stone or reclaimed asphalt may <br /> be used as substitutes however the depth of base material remains the <br /> same for each. The Consulting Engineer may, at his discretion, call for <br /> the road base material to.be tested by a recognized testing materials <br /> laboratory to confirm materials compliance with the road base standard. <br /> C. Road base material shall be approved for depth, compaction and quality <br /> prior to authorization for paving. <br /> 3. Curbing <br /> a. if the project involves setting curb, inspect curb for placement and <br /> alignment. <br /> 4. Asphalt Paving <br /> a. base course of mix when road-base has been placed and fine graded, <br /> b. inspect drainage structures for proper cement collars brought to surface <br /> of base course of mix, <br /> C. prior to placement of wearing surface to inspect for damaged base <br /> material, sweeping and tack coat if wearing surface is not placed <br /> immediately after base course is down. <br /> 5. Other Road Surface Materials <br /> a. brick and concrete pavers to be used in minor roads and lanes shall be <br /> inspected for construction in accordance with the approved plans and <br /> manufacturer's recommendations. <br /> b. Base material for pavers shall be inspected for material quality and <br /> thickness to the proper compacted depth as shown on the approved <br /> plans. <br /> 5. Sidewalks <br /> a. inspect for proper sub base material and placement of gravel base to <br /> proper thickness, <br /> b. inspect base course.of mix, final wearing surface. <br /> 6. Road Shoulders <br /> a. inspect for proper width, sloping <br /> b. inspect for placement of loam and seed, complete germination of seed <br /> 7. Other Utilities <br /> a. . Water lines, gate valve placement, curb stops, hydrants to be inspected <br /> for proper location. <br /> b. Water line construction and materials to be completed in accordance with <br /> Mashpee Water District requirements, <br /> C. Provide the Board of Appeals with a sign-off from the Mashpee Water <br /> District indicating they have approved the wafter main and all <br /> appurtenances for proper installation, <br /> d. Gas lines and services shall be installed in the locations shown on the <br /> plans and in accordance with the requirements of the appropriate gas <br /> supplier and utility. A copy of the approved plan for gas service and line . <br /> size shall be provided to the Town of Mashpee Board of Appeals. <br /> e. Sewer lines to be inspected for location and size in accordance with the <br /> approved plans. <br />
