Road Base a. when road sub base has been cut or filled to proper subgrade in preparation for gravel, b. after road base gravel has been placed and is in the process of being fine graded. Road base gravel to be 3" minus aggregate in conformance with the Massachusetts Highway standard for road base gravel. Other materials such as dense blended crushed stone or reclaimed asphalt may be used as substitutes however the depth of base material remains the same for each. The Consulting Engineer may, at his discretion, call for the road base material to.be tested by a recognized testing materials laboratory to confirm materials compliance with the road base standard. C. Road base material shall be approved for depth, compaction and quality prior to authorization for paving. 3. Other Road Surface Materials a. brick and concrete pavers to be used in minor roads and lanes shall be inspected for construction in accordance with the approved plans and manufacturer's recommendations. b. Base material for pavers shall be inspected for material quality and thickness to the proper compacted depth as shown on the approved plans. 5. Sidewalks a. inspect for proper sub base material and placement of gravel base to proper thickness, b. inspect base course.of mix, final wearing surface. 6. Road Shoulders a. inspect for proper width, sloping b. inspect for placement of loam and seed, complete germination of seed 7. Other Utilities a. . Water lines, gate valve placement, curb stops, hydrants to be inspected for proper location. b. Water line construction and materials to be completed in accordance with Mashpee Water District requirements, C. Provide the Board of Appeals with a sign-off from the Mashpee Water District indicating they have approved the wafter main and all appurtenances for proper installation, d. Gas lines and services shall be installed in the locations shown on the plans and in accordance with the requirements of the appropriate gas supplier and utility. A copy of the approved plan for gas service and line . size shall be provided to the Town of Mashpee Board of Appeals. e. Sewer lines to be inspected for location and size in accordance with the approved plans.
