coastal resources plan. <br />The Chairman mentioned having a similar concern with <br />Objective A - "...Maintain the integrity of existing large <br />unfragmented...etc.,, Wetlands and wildlife/plant habitat <br />Objective B - Could the goal of this Objective be addressed by <br />any number of agencies (State Wetlands Statute, Home Rule <br />Regulations administered by Conservation Commission, Rivers Act) <br />regarding buffer areas. <br />Mr. Fudala said this Plan is not a direction on how to <br />change zoning, but rather a direction of what the Town would like <br />to accomplish through Conservation Commission, Board of Health <br />and/or zoning Regulations, Town By -Laws and actions. <br />(There was discussion regarding the possibility of a <br />difference in agency opinions. The Chairman suggested <br />substituting the words, "...are protected (period). And the <br />mechanism to protect them be dealt with in other ways.) <br />The Chairman referred to Objective H - Referring to the <br />wording "...maximum possible amount.." Tom Fudala suggested <br />substituting the word "possible" with "feasible." <br />MOTION: Robert Govoni made a motion to change the wording <br />of Objective H from "...maximum possible amount..." to <br />..maximum feasible amount..."; which Motion was seconded by <br />Patrick Coffey and so voted unanimously. <br />The Chairman made reference to Recommended Policies -Open <br />Space, Recreation & Agriculture Policies 1. His concern is with <br />the wording of this policy rendering some form of the land use <br />impossible. <br />Mr. Fudala said this is a design issue proposed to indicate <br />where to designate open space in a cluster, and to insure larger <br />areas of existing open space remain intact. (No further action <br />was taken.) <br />The Chairman referred to Policy 12. - "...To support the <br />creation of a Cape Cod Land Bank..." He stated his feelings that <br />this is a very political situation which should be determined by <br />a voting mechanism (Referendum). He questioned whether or not <br />this policy should be included in this Plan. <br />Board Members Martine Meijering, Patrick Coffey and Dennis <br />Balzarini expressed support for this policy as presented. <br />Robert Govoni made reference to National Recreation and Park <br />Association Standards - population per facility. He asked if the <br />peak year is 2005. And if figures could be reworked regarding <br />soccer and baseball fields. <br />Mr. Fudala explained the chart is an indication of National <br />-7- <br />
