There being no further public input, the Town Planner agreed to address Board recommendations to change the wording of Goal #1. (The Public Hearing Local Comprehensive Plan was thereupon concluded at 8:03 p.m.) Public Hearing Discussion of Eight Zoning Articles The Chairman called the Public Hearing in this matter to order at 8:05 p.m. "Pursuant to Mass. Gen. Laws C.40A, the Mashpee Planning Board will hold a Public Hearing on Wednesday, October 2, 1996 at 7:30 p.m. at the Carol H. Jacobson Senior Center, 500 Great Neck Road, Mashpee, Massachusetts to review eight Articles for action at the October 7, 1996 Annual Town Meeting." Summaries of the Articles are as follows: An amendment to the Zoning By -Law Section 174-40 extending (inaudible) requirements for the access ways in the C-1, C-1-SV, C-1-0 commercial districts to the C-2 commercial and I-1 industrial districts, but restricting application to Routes 28, 151, 130, Great Neck Road North and directing that where a lot has frontage on both one of the major roadways listed and a side street, any driveway access except right -turn -only be from the side street. This is printed in the Warrant as Section 174-70 to be amended on Town Meeting Floor. Thomas Fudala identified this as Article 27 and explained that when the Warrant was submitted to the newspapers, Section 174 was mistyped to read 1170," the corrected copy for Town Meeting reads 174-40. The current existing Zoning By -Law requires driveways entering onto Routes 28, 151, 130, Great Neck Road North and South and any other street within the C-1, C-1-SV, C-1-0 commercial districts have to be 200 feet apart. The proposed By -Law would extend this application to the C-2 districts, which would include Andy's Market, Botello's, Cefello's continuing to The Cheapo Depot at the Town line. The attempt being to reduce the number of driveway access points for reasons of safety. This proposal would also negate the requirement within the current By -Law to separate a side street by 200 feet. It would require the greatest distance possible for driveway access from the intersection. Dennis Balzarini questioned the use of Great Neck Road South, which is not specifically mentioned in the amendment. Mr. Fudala explained the current By -Law includes Great Neck Road South.
