16 Great Neck R.oadWorth
.rlashpee, Massachusetts 02649
It was unanimously decided that this could not be broadcasted enough.
Ms. Waygan inquired about a Town -wide E-mail distribution.
Mr. Callahan previously asked about the phone blast.
Ms. Waygan noted there should be a module to sign up for news from the Town.
Mr. Lehrer stated this is an amenity that could be added into the website when it goes live.
Ms. Wells looks at weekends for community events for engaging the Town. Saturday mornings when
people are out and about, as work prevents a lot of people from participating on weekdays. It could be
at school, the cafeteria, something of that nature, to accommodate a number of people.
Mr. Callahan asked about incentives for people to show up.
Ms. Wells noted food of course, also having tables set up to provide people with the opportunity to
think, things like asking people to locate their favorite place on the map. There are different
engagements that provide feedback as well. She will provide the items to promote the kickoff.
Ms. Waygan commented that people are comfortable coming to the Public Library and the Town Hall.
Mr. Phelan asked if they would be rolling activities or set times. The high school gymnasium could
accommodate a large group. A rolling activity could be in a smaller venue if it allows people to stagger
in over a longer stretch of time.
Ms. Waygan suggested that each workshop should be in different parts of town as there are different
themes for each workshop.
Mr. Callahan will look into the availability of the banquet room at New Seabury.
Ms. Waygan noted the Senior Center has ample parking.
Public Engagement Update:
They need to identify sites for kickoff and the three systems meetings. The Board will know how to
attract the citizens for a summer event. Hopefully, it will be a mask free summer. There will be
stakeholder meetings throughout this time as well as running a constant creation of buzz by putting up
posters around town. Actual dates will be defined for each month.
Ms. Waygan just did housing summit in Yarmouth. One was held in person and one was held virtually.
There was the same number of people at each. She noted they may want to think about one all virtual
event. There are some people that just won't come out.
4
