16 Great .Neck R,oad.North
.Mashpee, Massachusetts 02649
Ms. Wells commented there needs to be a strategy developed around that. She is waiting for the list to
be finalized. This will depend on municipal Department Heads. There will be a requirement for certain
questions which can be incorporated into footnotes or an appendix. At the end of the whole process a
lot of stakeholder interview notes that aren't part of the plan but are part of the public record will be
noted elsewhere. There are other stakeholders who may be community group leaders where
information is broader, not a fact that will go into a plan. The questions should be provided in advance
to allow opportunity to prepare. A person will likely be interviewed and their responses will be recorded.
Ms. Waygan referenced the recent joint meeting with Sewer Commission and Conservation. She would
like to know if more of those meetings are scheduled or if they are going to other Boards.
Mr. Lehrer stated they are not scheduled yet.
Ms. Barbee mentioned the Wampanoag Government Center has a large space.
Mr. Lehrer agreed that is a great space. When a liaison is assigned, he will reach out.
Mr. Balzarini wants to make sure the Planning Board is working on doing the best they can for the town.
He suggested sending a simple survey Town -wide to see if people want more housing or
transportation. He wants to know how people feel about certain items and what is important to them.
Ms. Wells knows that citizen observations are important. They start with existing conditions because
they are assembling data. This eliminates redundancies in asking people what they have already done.
People can compare apples to apples and they have the ability to prioritize their different actions. The
public receives the information so they remain educated on the data and prior plans. Then, there is a
way for them to prioritize.
Ms. Sweet commented they need to set a foundation to determine what direction the town wants to
take all these areas. Goals, policies, and actions are really where prioritization comes into play.
Transportation, for example, needs a baseline on what is currently there, then engage the community
with what we know as it exists today, and what direction it wants to go for the future.
Sign written special permit decision for Sherwin Williams retail paint store, application
submitted by Lisciotti Development Corporation approved on 1/19/2022 after no appeals filed
pursuant to MGL Chapter 40A Section 17.
Signed Special Permit decision for Sherwin Williams retail paint store.
CHAIRMANS REPORT
New Second Homeowner Survey
Mr. Fulone had a chance to read the survey. He suggests starting with the executive summary, there is
a lot of information that he found interesting. It's predominantly people ages 55+, wealthy, with no kids,
and he was discouraged by that, but overall a good read.
51
