16 Great Neck Road.Worth
-%lashyee, Massachusetts 02649
Ms. Waygan asked to go back to the Existing Conditions slide. Water and Housing are the most
important issues in this town. It would be valuable to make it a separate chapter. She asked where
Human Services would belong.
Mr. Lehrer commented under Municipal Buildings, Facilities, and Services. Human Services pertains to
services provided by a town department.
Mr. Fulone stated Human Services could even be plowing.
Ms. Sweet mentioned Police, Fire Department, and Health being Human Services as well.
We are providing you with a draft, that doesn't mean edits cannot continue. They just want to keep the
ball rolling forward so when it is time to roll out we are in good shape. If something substantial comes
from a workshop the survey can be amended to reflect that.
Ms. Waygan would like to wait until after the third workshop before the surveys go out. We can't have
the draft for Public Comment without the survey. August acts as time off for this town. We have to think
about that. If we push the survey out in August we should put it back out in September, sometime after
school starts but before Halloween.
Mr. Balzarini asked if they can put an ad in the paper, before the survey is sent out to let people know it
is coming. He would like to get that 10%.
Mr. Lehrer is happy to do that when a date for launch is identified.
The Chair called for Public Comment and recognized Lynne Barbee.
Lynne Barbee- She wanted to note the 2011 survey had 662 participants. With the use of Survey
Monkey and in person they got past 10%. Her concern is they should have a lot of potential gatherings,
meetings, and occasions for people to come and get the survey, fill out, and leave there. A lot of people
won't do it online and most veterans don't have internet. The Board should think about having two days
a week at the library and be present in places where people can get the survey in person, fill it out then
and there, then leave it. Also, give them resources for the online portal. She is looking forward to having
some of those gatherings.
Discussions amongst the Planning Board resumed.
Consideration of Letter of Support for joint application to CPC by Conservation and Planning
Departments for the acquisition of property addressed 751 Main Street for Open Space.
Mr. Lehrer commented that the Board submitted a letter for an Open Space Committee, and in the
meantime his office fielded a submitted plan for a subdivision. The property owner didn't lay out the
subdivision as a cluster. It would be inadequate if they wanted to subdivide, it is configured as a cluster,
abutting conservation, within the Mashpee National Wildlife Refuge, and was identified as a parcel of
12
