Ms. Waygan conducted a housing survey
dried out.
16 Great Neck Road North
Nashpee, .Vassachusetts 02649
In the first two weeks there was a massive response, then it
The Chair called for Public Comment and recognized Lynne Barbee.
Lynne Barbee- She stated this came up the last time Ms. Sweet was here. They want 500 people to
respond to the survey. The old survey was 6 pages long and they had 662 responses. Six pages takes
about 15 minutes. We want to have the right questions but shouldn't be assuming it has to be short. A
lot of people will do it online. Where she lives people are not online. We will want to have copies at the
library and the Senior Center, places where people congregate and make a push for it.
Discussion amongst Planning Board members resumed.
Future community engagement dates and activities
Ms. Waygan asked Mr. Richardson if he was working on dates for the Men's Club.
Mr. Richardson does not have dates but he is working on gathering a list of groups that are interested
in having focus groups.
Ms. Waygan stated there is a stakeholders list to be shared with everyone on the Board. With two new
members the list needs to be distributed again and see if there are any holes or new additions. She is
going to get into dates now for community events, if anyone else has contributions please add. June
24th is the Mashpee Fireworks and people go ahead of time. It may be a good place to pass out
information maybe small card with the date of the 23rd with QR code and website. Mashpee
Wampanoag powwow July 1-3rd and we got permission to be a nonprofit table on Friday and Saturday
1 st or 2"d. Sign up for hours if you can be at the table. The next Sunday, the Mashpee Tribe has a
monthly meeting on July 10th, it may be a good time to have the focus group at the headquarters. She
is asking for Weston & Sampson as well, the meeting is 2p.m.-4p.m. It's a little tight but it is a big
opportunity because people travel to Mashpee for the powwow. She was targeting June 301h as an all
virtual summit at 11a.m. Is that date confirmed?
Mr. Lehrer did discuss this and it can be done he hasn't pinned down a date and look at the scope of
agreement for a potential contract modification. We are starting to run up against budgetary concerns
due to additional engagement with Weston & Sampson so he just needs to look at funds.
Ms. Waygan commented the virtual summits go quick. People are engaged at their computers and if
they need a break they just take one. There will be an introduction with small breakout groups on zoom
then back to the larger group and have a choice of which system to break out in the second half. The
three are Community Systems, Natural Systems, or Built Systems. She got some feedback from people
who are in their homes for different reasons and have requested a virtual summit. If it can be done it
should. June 30th may be too soon but she would like to do it before the final July workshop, to be able
to have all information by then.
18
