µ-
16 Great Neck Road North
-Mashpee, Massachusetts 02649
Ms. Waygan commented if that question was on there, people will feel satisfied taking the survey.
Workshops and Focus Groups
July 23, 2022 10:OOa.m. at Mashpee Public Library on Built Systems
Ms. Waygan asked if anyone else will be going to facilitate. Ms. Faulkner, Mr. Balzarini, and Lynne
Barbee will be there. Mr. Lehrer noted an individual from BETA will be there, himself, Ms. Sweet, Cathy
Mahoney, and Alex Beltran as well. She asked for the definition.
Mr. Lehrer stated Built Systems are the manmade physical aspects of the town that allow us to
comfortably live, work, and recreate here. These are the roads, bridges, development patterns,
wastewater facilities, drinking water facilities, boat ramps, etc.
August 7, 2022 2:OOp.m. with Mashpee Wampanoag Tribal Council
Ms. Waygan commented the Tribe has a general membership meetings on Sunday. The one we were
scheduled got postponed because of COVID. They are officially on the agenda. Mr. Lehrer sent a
message to David Weeden for clarity because he got conflicting dates. The weekend of the 14th is the
Narragansett powwow and the next general meeting is the Aquinnah powwow. They felt there might not
be a good representation at these meetings because of those events. He is awaiting confirmation about
this. The first meeting of September may be a better time for everyone but he will report back to the
Board.
July 26, 2022 4:OOp.m. to 6:OOp.m. for Southport Workshop, Mashpee Village, Business
Community
Mr. Lehrer has been working with Southport and their Government Relations Committee. He will be
hosting a workshop Tuesday, July 26, 2022 from 4:OOp.m. to 6:OOp.m., before the EDIC meeting. He
prepared a relatively abbreviated concept to spark informal discussion. There will be four stations, one
for visioning, Built Systems, Community Systems, and Natural Systems. He will be taking what has
been learned from the workshops thus far and have everything printed onto large boards identifying
systems. Facilitators will have tables and people will walk through and have conversations and capture
thoughts that way. He will provide refreshments and it will be more of a hang out with facilitated tables
manned by himself and some volunteers. He will start with a brief presentation with a Planning Board
member and the President of the Board of Governors will make some remarks. They will be able to
hear Southport priorities in an abbreviated framework similar to the previous workshops. They are
allowing additional HOA's to join. Ms. Waygan will be there. Additionally, he met with the Property
Manager at Mashpee Village, they hold a bingo night that is popular. He will buy pizza and do the same
framework at Mashpee Village with pizza before bingo starts. Lastly, he will host his next coffee hour
with the business community on August 31. He is hoping to set up additional meetings.
18
