When those fail they report there right away to fix the damage.
Ms. Waygan is going to look at the Visitors Guide. She thinks there needs to be something else with the
business community after Labor Day with the school system. She asked if there was more Public
Comment regarding the LCP.
Marjorie Hecht- She is wondering about the schedule for the whole process as far as a point where the
public has a chance to read a draft or report and comment on it. She has a lot of small comments she
doesn't think are appropriate for here, it may be a waste of time. She inquired if there will be a time
when the draft is ready and the public can report.
Mr. Lehrer stated there will be a time for that by the fall. They are continuing community engagement
into early fall and the deadline is not set in stone, but will certainly be some time after September.
Ms. Waygan reiterated they do not want to launch the survey in August as there may be at least two
public engagements in September. August is a time where everyone is on vacation and school is just
about to start. They will want to wait to have a good launch and have the survey out for 25-30 days.
Then Ms. Sweet will gather those comments and with everything else garnered, it all has to get
incorporated. She is thinking that will be sometime in October or November. Then Planning Board will
look at it, then there will be Public Comment for 30 days. They would be doing really well if this was a
warrant vote for May.
Ms. Hecht is willing to take as much time as it takes to get it right as the document needs to last at least
10 years. She would like to take the time to have peoples input. She doesn't see the point in rushing.
The conversation was brought back to the Planning Board.
Affordable and Workforce housing ADU Workshop
Mr. Lehrer noted there are a number of correspondents from people constructing these units. He
thought it would be worthwhile to map out the process with the Building Commissioner and lay out the
details. They will start with septic, consider zoning in terms of gross floor and principal dwelling, along
with architecture and permitting. They will layout the protocol whether it's detached or attached.
Ms. Waygan thinks the Housing Assistance Corporations will come.
Clean water Initiative July I Ith presentation to Mashpee Select Board of Proposed Changes to
Title 5 Septic System Regulations by Mass Dept. of Environmental Protection
Ms. Waygan announced that the state will Zoom into the Mashpee Select Board meeting on July 11tn
DEP will come and do a presentation to the Board and take comments about this. If she understands
correctly, Mashpee would be in a position to get a watershed permit. It would give the town 20 years to
implement nitrogen control, otherwise 5 years, then every individual system will be on an IA system.
15
