M
16 Great .Neck Road.North.
9â–ºlasGyee, Nassachusetts 02649
Mr. Lehrer is pleased to report a small sign along Main St. listing 17 acre parcel for sale on Mashpee
Wakeby. He has been talking to the property owners informally and they are firmly committed to selling
the piece to the town for conservation. He has yet to have a preliminary meeting along with the
Conservation Agent. It will be their goal to file a joint application with the Conservation Commission on
the potential acquisition, following a third party appraisal.
Ms. Waygan informed him they don't have enough money in the bank to cover these. He will need to
start that conversation about bonding. We are going to have to borrow money for those two purchases
so close together. There is the park grant, which is state money that reimburses 50% if you do it right.
You have to have the capacity to buy it solo because the town reimburses you. Other towns bond out
for that purchase and the state reimburses. We used to do it with the Land Bank. The Cape Cod Land
Bank ended in 2020. The Finance Department got them in shape so they paid off land bank bills. If we
stopped the CPC in 2020 there wouldn't be any debt, the CPC has no debt. She is hoping they will be
in support of the bonding. It isn't often these opportunities come up, 17 acres is a huge opportunity.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Cape Cod Commission -
Community Preservation Committee -
Design Review -
Plan Review -
Environmental Oversight Committee -
Historic District Commission -
Military Civilian Advisory Committee -
PUBLIC COMMENT
There is a regional conference called One Cape on August
15t and 2"d. Ms. Waygan stated if there is interest to attend
the department has money to sign up. Board members are
budgeted to attend just invoice the department.
There is no meeting scheduled but applications have been
submitted, so there will likely be an upcoming meeting.
Inner Glow Yoga on N. Market St. signage, under zoning
there may be too much signage. Final approval is pending
inspection by Fire Department and Building Commissioner.
They will also review the film coating on the existing
windows.
No Meeting
No Report
Meeting scheduled for 7/19/22 at 9:30a.m.
They met on June 30, 2022. This item will be taken off the
agenda.
Lynne Barbee- She would like an update on the Algonquin Road clear cutting and fines as well as
solar overlays.
Mr. Lehrer is awaiting a reply from the Commission, as the ball is in their court. His request for an
informal jurisdictional interpretation of the Cape Cod Commission Act. He is expecting a response from
the Cape Cod Commission's counsel.
17
