16 Great Neck Road North
.Mashpee, Massachusetts 02649
Mr. Lehrer inquired if there was anything else regarding the public service announcements and
the presentation to the Select Board.
Ms. Waygan noted the first and second bullets overlap. She stated the Planning Board is going
to be present at the Select Board's September 12, 2022 meeting to present the two proposed
zoning bylaw amendments. That is the night they are closing their Warrant. They want people
who proposed bylaws to be present to answer questions. She noted Mr. Lehrer is on vacation
that week. Ms. Waygan and Ms. Faulkner are available, and they will have the PSA from Mr.
Lehrer to show along with some Power Point slides. Hopefully the two of them will be able to
answer questions to get those zoning bylaw amendments on the Warrant.
Ms. Waygan stated the LID (Low Impact Development) bylaw changes the language from
"encouraged" to "required". There is a specification to remove nutrients such as nitrogen and
phosphorus and specifically names those nutrients. She inquired when those materials will
need to be submitted to the Town Manager's office.
Mr. Lehrer commented materials need to be submitted to the Select Board's office by
tomorrow, September 08, 2022. He met with the Stormwater Task Force today who made
recommendations that mirrored the strategies changing the language deviation from
encouraged to require. They cited a number of resources from the Autobahn that provides
guidance for low impact design strategies.
Ms. Waygan needs to get something into the Select Boards packet, maybe some general
information about low impact development.
Ms. Faulkner asked what needed to be presented to the Town Managers Office tomorrow.
Mr. Lehrer specified they need any items that will be included for their packet the Thursday
prior to their Monday meeting.
Ms. Waygan would like to provide them with general information about what low impact
development is. She would like to include what Fuss & O'Neil recommended along with what
current engineers are recommending as well as a basic explanation of low impact
development. She sent a link containing the EPA.gov description. They already have the
recommended bylaw change.
Mr. Fulone asked if the Planning Board could get a copy of materials being sent to the Town
Manager's Office so they can review the materials as well.
3
