of MASFce
INC. IBIN
n
AOTamnw M
Board
16 Great Neck Road
North
Mashpee, Massachusetts 02649
site didn't continue across the street? A site on Red Brook Road belonging to Princess
Evening Star had many buildings, who knows what remains on that site. Mr. Stark is an
outdoor person and does a lot of walking out there and he has seen very old things. If they are
considering building, they need a survey. Near Little Neck Bay they found 11 unmarked graves
in the lot beside it. Who knows if there were more that were unreported. A 16,000 s.f. lot is so
small and to only build 2,000 s.f. homes, he is all for progress and development, but what has
been done to Mashpee, it's not Mashpee. Just drive through the cottages at New Seabury, the
houses are 10 ft. apart. Keep New Seabury on the other side of the road, don't bring New
Seabury to our side. The abutters listened to the noise of construction for three years while
they were building the cottages. When is enough, enough? He has 3.5 acres, can he subdivide
his acreage into 17,000 sq. ft. lots? He doesn't see the need to expand, it's all for sale. The
golf courses and real estate is all for sale.
Jackie and Paul Bartolomei — When they purchased their land, they were very aware that
Princess Evening Star and the land was precious to the Wampanoags. There absolutely could
be something back there and they are opposed to this project. They don't have town water and
there have been consistent problems over the years with the well water, there being holes in
the pipes, and even with an expensive filter system, it still doesn't work. If this gets approved,
they would like to be hooked up to town water. Their neighbors feel the same way. They never
expected cluster houses on these small lots. There is a graveyard right behind her old
property, its all around them. They are also concerned about the traffic on the corner of Red
Brook Road. The congestion is heavy and is very dark around the time share units. There are
trucks coming out of New Seabury all day long. Summer triples the number of people in this
area. We all have to live by a rule of certain size lots when we build our houses.
Stephen Johnson- He knows this will benefit their property value, but he won't be able to live
here if this development goes forward. There will be nonstop trucks. He has PTSD and this
noise is going to be astronomical for him, he will have to sell or relocate. His kids are home
schooled. He would like to speak with the developers. He wouldn't be able to live there with
this all happening.
Brian Hyde- He has a family of 10 and has lived in Mahspee for 45 years. He believes in
property rights and supports quality of life for Mashpee. Traffic has already been addressed.
He fought with this Board 35 years ago about the placement of his driveway because the traffic
was so bad. In 1989 that was a high traffic area and a dangerous intersection. Most of them
are still on wells, and the quality of the ground water is a real concern for him and his family.
9
