apof MASFe
INC. IBIN
n
AOTamnw M
Board
16 Great Neck Road
North
Mashpee, Massachusetts 02649
With all the runoff and fertilizer going into the ground, that's what they drink. South Mashpee is
sign pollution, there are 16-18 signs. The wildlife there has so many deer, this will just push the
all further away. His neighbors are getting monster houses built in their yards. There is a bike
path on the horizon from the rotary all the way to South Cape Beach, how will this affect the
pedestrians?
Trish Keliinui — She lives across the street from the proposed subdivision. To give
perspective, she is 56 years old and has lived in her home for 54 years. She has been in that
area the longest and has seen the most development over the years. There are so many
turnarounds in her driveway on Red Brook Road because the signage was missed. Her
biggest concern is that intersection where the stop sign is on Red Brook. Just the other
evening, a vehicle never stopped at the sign. She is very nervous about the safety of that road.
Ms. Faulkner asked if DOT would have traffic crash data. Mr. Lehrer stated he is not sure but
could certainly seek that information from the PD.
Ms. Keliinui stated a police cruiser has been posted there, which has slowed speeds, but only
temporary.
David Weeden —As Tribal Historic Preservation Officer for the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe,
he would like to reaffirm the concerns made by Mr. Oakley. In 2016, Mashpee passed an
Article that requires all Special Permits at least consider the survey done by PAL and produce
a final technical report. This has informed towns with GIS data the pre and post contact
archeological and would delineate moderate to high areas. The Town spent good CPC money
to create that report. If you don't use it, what's the sense, but also the way it is being used is
incorrect. You must consider the information you are looking at, not just document that this
parcel lies in or near that area. This informs the Board to require archeological investigations.
This Article passed at Town Meeting. This town has egregiously built up in historical sites,
most of the villages were around the water. Human remains have already been found on that
site. The Secretary of MA Historical Commissions notes there are 7 pre contact sites within a
mile and 14 sites within 2 miles. That area is high sensitivity for a reason. He has access to the
archeological layers due to his position, but this feature is restricted to the public. He would
also ask that the Board conduct a traffic study. That area is horrendous, and putting that
entrance right there, someone is going to get killed. It drops down and the line of site is not the
greatest. We need to find out how fast people are really going. He acknowledged Aunt Gert,
10
