16 Great Neck RoadNorth
Mashpee, Massachusetts 02649
Ms. Waygan stated it will be a workshop style in the Event Room at the library. She would like
to sit around one table. The Poppy Association has done some work on this already. She
would like to recommend Form Based Code. A neighborhood just like this in Maine had
success with little lots, and the thought is a bylaw by right so you didn't have to go to the ZBA
all the time. They might not want form based they might want a special permit from ZBA. She
would get Town -wide on something or start to look at overlays for different neighborhoods.
Mr. Lehrer commented conventional zoning seems like an easier approach with the varying
character districts, like ponds and coastal beaches, but form based can work and is another
option.
Ms. Waygan will send Mr. Lehrer the link, they don't have to go through a Special Permit they
go by right and get a building permit.
Mr. Hansen inquired about an Old Business item, a bylaw penalty or enforcement section
where anyone found to be in violation of any provisions shall be served by the Town via written
notice stating the nature. Has Willowbend been notified of a violation of this bylaw?
Ms. Waygan would like to add this item to the July 17t" Agenda. The information can be given
to Mr. Hansen who will present on the topic.
CHAIRS REPORT
Ms. Waygan would like to thank Evan Lehrer for all his hard work with the Town of Mashpee.
This Board wishes him well in his future endeavors. Mr. Balzarini doesn't know what they are
going to do without him.
Mr. Oakley stated Mr. Lehrer is very impressive and doesn't miss a beat, it has been a true
honor to work with him and will be missed.
Mr. Hansen acknowledged Mr. Lehrer as being very professional, very knowledgeable, and
brought a great deal of oversight as Town Planner.
Ms. Faulkner really enjoyed working with Mr. Lehrer as he is easy to get along with, very
intelligent, thoughtful, a thinker, who has a lovely way with people. He truly is the whole
package.
Mr. Lehrer hopes there is some flexibility to fill in the gaps until someone is hired for the
Planner role. This is his last meeting as a full-time employee, he will have a few more in a
7
