16 Great Neck RoadNorth
-lashpee, -Massachusetts 02649
notice to check out the roadway. He would also follow up with the original plan writers to ask
follow up questions.
Steve McDonald- He commented he has been on Watson Drive for 33 years and there are
storm drains. Since the town water was put in there have been issues with the road sinking.
Trenches were built but the storm drains did not work. The Water District is a separate entity,
but still municipal. When the new gas lines were put in, the road was patched but not brought
back up to standard. With only 11 residents they couldn't afford to press the issue. There have
been ongoing drainage issues, storm drains are in place but definitely need to be cleaned.
Deborah Gemma- She was unable to attend in May. She is learning more about how road
taking works and the costs. Her street is not a high priority for sewering, it would seem a
shame to take the road then tear it up down the road. Is there any coordination between these
two? It was mentioned that the Town Meeting would have to approve of the land taking, then
that sum is split between the owners of the road. The betterment will be based on what is
actually spent. If a homeowner is paying it over 20 years and sells, the seller has to pay it off.
It's a lien on the property and cant sell until this is settled.
MOTION:
Mr. Richardson made a motion to close the Public Hearing. Seconded by Mr.
Oakley. All in favor.
MOTION:
Mr. Richardson made a motion to recommend Town Meeting vote for the Town to
take Watson Drive. Seconded by Mr. Balzarini. All in favor.
Ms. Waygan will inform Town Moderator of the vote.
OLD BUSINESS
Release of remaining inspection fees for Casper Circle
The amount to release back to the applicant is $225.46 with any interest.
MOTION:
Mr. Richardson made a motion to release $225.46 back to the applicant for
inspection fees at Casper Circle.
