MINUTES August 19 , 1993 4 BOARD OF HEALTH <br /> Mr. Suominen stated, "The proposed private facility will <br /> be located at an Industrial Park in the town of Taunton. " <br /> "We secured final land use permits to build the facility. " <br /> "We having been working with D.E.P. for one year and expect <br /> to receive final ❑.E.P. permit for sewer connection. " "Our <br /> goal is to open the plant in late January or February of <br /> 1994 . " "Estimated acceptance is 100,000 gallons per day. " <br /> "Our target area is a 25 to 30 mile radius. " "We expect to <br /> come in at .5 1/2 cent to .7 cent per gallon range for mu- <br /> nicipalities. " "The pumper will be responsible for transpor- <br /> tation fees. " "We would be willing to lock-in that fee and <br /> are looking for 3 to 4 year contracts. " "There would be a <br /> considerate price index increase on an annual basis. " "We <br /> will set aside disposal capacity for each town/city. " "We <br /> have storage capabilities of up to 600 ,000 to 700,000 gallons <br /> on site. " "We have six receiving bays. " <br /> Mr. Doherty questioned whether this would be put or pay <br /> process. " <br /> Mr. Suominen responded,. "It could be however, this is an <br /> issue that we would be willing to talk about. " <br /> Mr. Bersani presented an overall view of the proposed <br /> facility and informed Board members, "Septage, once treated, <br /> will be discharged to the town of. Taunton's sewerage system. " <br /> "Sludge will be transported to the Taunton landfill ." <br /> "Taunton has two years left on its existing landfill life and <br /> are in the final stages of securing a permit for a 20 year <br /> expansion of their existing landfill . " "They now transport <br /> their sludge to their landfill. " <br /> Mr. Greelish relayed, "Sandwich has already made their <br /> commitment to the Otis treatment plant." "We are now prepar- <br /> ing to make our commitment. " <br /> Mr. Bersani stated, "We will make a formal proposal to <br /> the town and provide contract documents as soon as possible. " <br /> Mr. Greelish recommended Mr. Bersani and Mr. Suominen <br /> consult with representatives from the towns of Sandwich and <br /> Mashpee. <br /> Mr. Suominen stated, "We will arrange a meeting with . <br /> the proper representatives of both towns. " <br /> APPOINTMENT: Patrick Coffey - r57 Timberlane <br /> Mr. Patrick Coffey and-Mr. Robert Raymond, P.E. were in <br /> attendance for this scheduled appointment. <br />
