MINUTES September 16, 1993 10 BOARD OF HEALTH <br /> Mr. Greelish explained to the Rossetti's the importance <br /> of maintaining 4' of permeable soil and also explained the <br /> problems in the area with ground saturation. <br /> Mr. Michniewicz relayed, "We do not have suitable soil <br /> therefore, the unsuitable soil will be removed beneath the <br /> proposed system and around it and then backfilled with clean <br /> soil . " <br /> Attorney Mills commented, "There is only one well we <br /> have been able to locate in the area which is 170' from the <br /> proposed leaching facility. " "As far as we know the remain- <br /> ing abutters are serviced by town water. " <br /> Mr. Rossetti commented, "Removing the unsuitable soils <br /> and replacing them with good soils should make for an effi- <br /> cient system. " <br /> Mr. Doherty stated, "There is no doubt that the system <br /> will work in terms of functioning. " "Our concern is the <br /> groundwater beneath it. " <br /> Mr. Rossetti stated, "We are proposing to use the cot- <br /> tage on a year-round basis. " <br /> Board members requested health agents work with the en- <br /> gineer to determine if there are any alternatives for instal- <br /> lation of a leaching facility on the lot. <br /> 5. ) Memo from Animal Inspector re: Lapio's Stables - Mr. <br /> McQuaid stated, " Mrs. Lapio's intentions are to utilize the <br /> garage stables temporary until the main stables have been <br /> fixed up. " "I would recommend the Board approve the stabling <br /> of eleven horses in the main barn. " <br /> Mr. Ball relayed, "I would recommend Ms. Lapio submit a <br /> letter stating the means of disposal for the horse manure. " <br /> Mr. McQuaid commented, "Once Ms. Lapio receives her <br /> stable license she must comply with the regulations. " <br /> Mr. Greelish motioned to approve the stabling of 11 <br /> horses on the property known as 243 South Sandwich Road and <br /> authorize Mr. McQuaid to proceed with the barn inspection and <br /> licensing procedures, Mr. Ball seconded, all agreed. <br /> 6. ) Permit/pert extension request - _57 Kim Path (ARpleyard) . <br /> Promotory „ Point (New Seabury) and Mews Pool Villas (New <br /> Seabury) <br /> 57 KIM PATH - Mr. McQuaid relayed, "The Board approved re- <br /> j vised plans on September 7, 1990 pending D.E.P. approval.
