MINUTES September 22, 1994 S BOARD OF HEALTH
Mr. Miller commented, "We could move the house towards the lot line."
Mr. McQuaid stated, "In speaking with the Building Inspector there are other
alternatives than requiring the 4' frost wall." "The other problem is the dwelling abutting
this property is only 92' from the flow diffuser's."
Mr. Doherty stated, "I would like an agent of this Board to verify the
disconnection of the cottage and connection to town water." "I would also request the
builder provide a copy of the building plans and to discuss with the Building Inspector as
to whether he has an alternative approveable method of supporting the slab foundation for
the garage." "If there is an alternative method plans must be revised."
Mr. Cram motioned to continue this matter pending the above information as
requested by Mr. Doherty, Mr. Doherty seconded.
9.) Board to vote on Aqua-Jet water installation - Discussed under item 1 on the
agenda.
10.) Emergency failure certifications - 46 Gia Lane, 149 Waterway, 32_Little Neck
Lane and 12 Sachem Road
46 GIA LANE - Board members forwarded their signatures to the "Emergency Repair
Certification" form.
32 LITTLE NECK LANE - Mr. McQuaid relayed, "The owners have been through the
Building Dept. and the Conservation Commission for the addition of a small garage."
"The lots are extremely small." "Where the septic system is, the slab on the garage would
go over half of the tank and just barely clear the leach pit." "I recommended a man-hole
at slab on the garage to access the tank.." "The engineer then informed me the leach pit
has no stone around it." "I recommended he retain an installer to put stone in." "The
installer then contacted me and relayed the pit was in failure." "I informed the builder this
is an emergency situation however, due to the close proximity of the wetlands engineered
plans would be required and they must return to the Conservation Commission for an
amended "Order of Conditions"."
Board members forwarded their signatures to the "Emergency Repair
Certification" form.
12 SACHEM ROAD - Mr. McQuaid relayed, "The Board certified the system in failure
September 1, 1994." "The Conservation Commission has approved plans."
