MINUTES October 13, 1994 13 BOARD OF HEALTH
Mr. Marsters responded, "No, but I think they may be pretty well built out over
there too." "I can't verify that but I am 95% sure."
Mr. Doherty stated, "When the developer of an individual homeowner, if town
water indeed does run adjacent to anyone of the four property lines, then town water is
the only acceptable source however, as we do review these on a case by case basis as you
have presented something that is kind of weird, I will yield my position and agree to
rescind the vote." "Only because you have raised the issue of accessibility in crossing
private property." "If that were a public road then I wouldn't go with it." "I may regret
this because precedence is something that always comes back to haunt us."
Mr. Evans commented, "Twenty years from now those people are going to say
how come we didn't get town water and they are not even going to be the people who
own the property now."
Mr. McQuaid commented, "I was hoping for some input Orin, thank you."
Mr. Marsters stated, "But you know something, twenty years from now they can
have town water if they want it."
Mr. McQuaid stated, "$5,000.00 per lot as a developer is not....."
Mr. Cram stated, "Nowadays, twenty years from now it may end up being
$25,000.00 per lot."
Mr. McQuaid stated, "Right, your tacking on $5,000.00 per constructed house on
a lot."
Mr. Ball stated, "It doesn't matter what he did let's stick to this on how he charges
the people."
Mr. Doherty stated, "How he charges the people is irrelevant to us."
Mr. Evans commented, "We have families with children who will be drinking water
that's probably less than we would accept for any other new house that's available that has
water there."
Mr. Ball commented, "If the water tests come out and it's acceptable by the State
and Federal regulations then it's good water."
Mr. Evans stated, "If you have 5 p.p.m. iron it's good water."
