MINUTES May 18, 1995 8 BOARD OF HEALTH <br /> Mr. Ball motioned to accept the 28 cubic yards at the landfill, Mr. Cram seconded, <br /> all agreed. <br /> Mr. Doherty stated, "We do not accept concrete or asphalt at the transfer station <br /> without charge unless previous arrangements have been made by the D.P.W. director." <br /> 4.) Memo from Leisure Services re: Fee waiver - Mr. McQuaid relayed, "Memorial <br /> Day weekend there will be several food vendor's." <br /> i <br /> Mr. Doherty questioned whether all food vendor's are volunteering their services." <br /> Board members agreed to continue this ratter pending Mr. Gus Frederick's <br /> attendance at next week's meeting. <br /> 5.) Newly adopted human service agencies - Mr. McQuaid relayed, "Since these <br /> human service agencies have been turned over to the Board of Health I have attempted to <br /> obtain copies of contracts for the current fiscal year for the Board to review and perhaps <br /> request their attendance at an upcoming meeting to further describe what they offer the <br /> residents." "I have been unable to do that." "I am requesting the Board continue this <br /> matter pending further information." <br /> Board members agreed. <br /> 6.) Informational guideline re: Betterment Bill - Mr. McQuaid relayed, "We have a <br /> resident questioning whether the Board proposes to implement the betterment process." <br /> "This is a guideline that's very brief and very to the point, as far as, if we do adopt this <br /> betterment process what we can offer to residents." "It deals with failed septic systems, <br /> underground storage tanks and lead paint." "I am unsure as to whether this particular <br /> resident's septic is in failure but I believe it may be a voluntary upgrade for a proposed <br /> addition to his house." "It heavily involves the Tax Collector's Office, Assessor's Office, <br /> Town Accountant's office and our office." "I would recommend we request the resident <br /> attend an upcoming meeting." <br /> Board members agreed. <br /> 7.) Soil logs and perk tests, 37 Keel Way - Mr. McQuaid relayed, "In January of this <br /> year Mr. Evans and Colonel Brogan perked this lot." "The lot was repossessed by the <br /> bank." "The perk log does not show 4' of naturally occurring permeable soil between the <br /> top and sub and groundwater." "In April five more test holes were dug and groundwater <br /> was found ranging anywhere from 4.8' to 6.2'." "I recommended Colonel Brogan sink a <br />
