MINUTES July 16, 1998 5 BOARD OF HEALTH
5.) Aunt Janes Road well septic layouts - Mr. McQuaid relayed, "This is preliminary."
"Approximately three years ago the engineering firm of Levy, Eldridge and Wagner
submitted plans for these lots that are parallel to Uncle Edwards Road.". "The plans didn't
indicate the well locations." "Mr. Grotske requested an extension which the Board agreed
to." "Mr. Grotske now has the engineering firm of BSS Design locating abutting wells."
"There are several lots that have problems." "One lot in particular that is currently
occupied has a well and the owner of that property is refusing to let the engineering firm
locate the well." "I did recommend to Mr. Grotske that he request a representative from
BSS Design attend an upcoming meeting to address the situation." "Mr. Grotske did
question whether the Board of Health has the authority to let a surveyor onto private
property." "I did inform him that we do not have that authority."
Acknowledged.
6.) Quashnet Valley subdivision modification - Mr. McQuaid relayed, "This
modification does not have much to do with the Board of Health, it's more of a
technicality."
Mr. Ball motioned to approve the modifications to the Quashnet Valley
subdivision, Mr. Doherty seconded, all agreed.
7.) John Drew subdivision - Mr. McQuaid relayed, "The owner is taking one parcel
of land between Route 28 and Great Neck Road and dividing them into two parcels."
Mr. Ball motioned to approve the subdivision plan submitted by John Drew, Mr.
Doherty seconded, all agreed.
8_) Revised plans 89 Meadowbrook Road - Mr. McQuaid relayed, "We originally
received plans for this parcel which I approved on March 17, 1998." "The applicant had to
go before to Conservation Commission because it lies within the flood zone." "Originally,
the leaching facility was 150' from the proposed well." "Now Conservation has told them
to move the well as far away from the flood zone as possible." "This is the first time the
Conservation Commission has requested the Board of Health have the engineer redesign
plans making the distance between the proposed well and proposed leaching facility less
than the original design of 150'."
Mr. Doherty motioned to deny the variance request, Mr. Ball seconded, all agreed.
