MINUTES September 2, 1999 7 BOARD OF HEALTH
Mr. Cram noted that if DEP does not approve the variances, they are back to square
one.
Motion seconded by Mr. Ball. Motion Passed.
OLD BUSINESS
Crowell Construction Regarding Compost
Mr. McQuaid stated while he was on vacation last week, Mr. Crowell had
removed compost material. Mr. McQuaid noted that he had talked with Mr.
Crowell prior to going on vacation. At this time, Mr. Crowell said he would pay
the town $1.00/cubic yard instead of .50 cents and he understood that we
would use a credit for the amount he took away to use anywhere we wished,
but most likely part of the $59,000 owed.
Board acknowledged..
Acceptance of Brush
Mr. McQuaid stated that there have been at least 3 or 4 complaints from
residents regarding the procedure that they have to go through to drop off
brush. Mr. McQuaid commented that it is not a precise enough procedure -
what is a full pick-up versus what is a slightly full pick-up. He said some
people are complaining they are getting charged too much.
There was discussion concerning eliminating the acceptance of brush. There
was discussion concerning setting exact fees.
Mr. Cram suggested that it be kept the same for now. Mr. Ball stated that this
winter they would work on updating this procedure.
_One-Day Passes
There was discussion concerning non-residents picking up free trip passes to
the transfer station. It was suggested that $5.00 be charged for a one-trip pass
for non-residents.
Mr. Cram made a motion to charge $5.00 for a one-trip pass to the transfer
station for non-residents. Mr. Ball seconded the motion. Motion Passed.
Injury Report
An Injury report was submitted as a result of a jagged edge to the door opening
of the transfer station.
Board acknowledged.
