separation between docks was believed to be adequate; however, an engineer would need
to confirm this.

Agent Comments
Proposed extension to achieve greater water depth. The current float is grounding at low
tide. Public access is provided under fixed pier
The new float should be the same size as the existing float, given water depth concerns
(existing and proposed expansion areas) instead of plank boards
Float stops proposed to maintain 1.2 ft of separation from bottom sediments
DMF recommends any piles to be removed must be removed entirely
The Agent recommends the following conditions if approved:
1) Require through-flow decking along the entire stretch of the fixed pier (existing and
proposed)
2) Reduce float size to no larger than the existing float. Require float stops
3) Provide information on engine draft of vessel(s) to be moored at float
4) Provide the status of the existing Ch. 91 license and a copy of the existing recorded
license to the Conservation Dept.

BOARD OF HEALTH: Note the location of the septic system and restrict
equipment/vehicle traffic over non-load bearing (H-10) components.

HARBORMASTER: No navigational or abutting concerns.

SHELLFISH: Having reviewed the most recent application for an extension of an
existing permitted dock, the dock extension will not warrant a Shellfish mitigation fee.

DIVISION OF MARINE FISHERIES: See comment(s) in the binder.

Mr. Cook makes a motion to close and issue the following conditions to adhere to the
recommendation of both DMF and the Conservation agent: float stops at 18 inches and
a maximum draft of 12 inches for vessels to be moored. Mr. Sahl seconded the motion. No
further discussion.
o ROLL CALL: Mr. Cook (Yes), Mr. Sahl (Yes), Ms. Godfrey (Yes), Ms.
Thornbrugh (Yes), Ms. Clapprood (Yes), Mr. Colombo (Yes).

The motion passed unanimously.

Documents provided: Cape & Islands Engineering, Inc.; Notice of Intent application & project narrative;
08/14/24 “Pier Extension Plan”

6:42
NOI #43-3306
75 Popponesset Island Road, Mathew David Hudson & Carol Marie Hudson.
Proposed construction of additions to single-family dwelling, including a patio with a second-
12
