Project Overview • Proposed removal of existing cesspool and upgrade to Title 5 septic system • Increase in flow from 2-bedroom to 3-bedroom system • Property consists of lots 2E and IE, combined area of 31,800 sqft • No proposed renovations or changes to the dwelling • Failed cesspool requiring upgrade Setback Constraints • Unable to fit system outside 70 ft from coastal bank • Received comments from the Board of Health • Proposal to include an I/A system • Willing to accept condition for I/A system inclusion Discussion & Continuance • Similar situation to the previous case, different setback • Limited options due to a 75 ft setback to the top of the inland bank • Proposed Fast system as the I/A solution • Decision to continuance for preparation of paperwork Agent Comments • Failed septic system to be upgraded to standard title V system. • No increase in living space. • An I/A system is not recommended as the technology does not remove phosphorous, which is the contributing nutrient to harmful algal blooms in freshwater bodies. • Recommendation o A negative determination Motion • Motion made by Ms. Clapprood for a continuance to March 9r11 at 6:12.
