6 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> December 1,2008 <br /> DPW Director—Trash Update: (continued) <br /> Maintaining status quo reflects a total of$1,001,271 in tipping fees and <br /> transfer station costs. Revenue generated amounts to $467,025, <br /> It was also decided the Board would hold a public hearing on the <br /> scenario's outlined to handle trash and recycling, and continue to educate <br /> the public on the benefits of recycling practices. <br /> The Director of Public Works was requested to review permit fees of <br /> comparable communities for continued review. <br /> Recommendations for Contract Award—Purchase of Ice Ban: <br /> Catherine Laurent, Director of Public Works recommended the Board <br /> award the contract for the purchase and delivery of Ice Ban to Safe Road <br /> Services of Franklin, MA. The bid was obtained through a regional salt <br /> bid. Copies of the bid results were submitted in the recommendation for <br /> the award of contract dated November 24, 2008. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Myers to accept and award the Contract <br /> for the Purchase of Ice Ban to Safe Road Services for a price of$0.93 <br /> per gallon. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cook. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Change Order#1 —Fuel Depot: <br /> Change Order#1 —Town Hall Roof Repair: <br /> It was noted the above referenced Change Orders are pending the Planning <br /> & Construction Committee's review. It was agreed that approval would <br /> be deferred to the next Selectmen's Meeting for additional input. <br />
