8
Board of Selectmen
Minutes
September 10,2007
NEW BUSINESS:
Recommendation for Bid Acceptance—Emergency Generator for Town
Hall:
Four bids were received in response to the Invitation for Bids for the
installation of a new generator at the Town Hall facility. Catherine
Laurent,DPW Assistant Director recommended the Board award the
contract to South Shore Generator in the amount of$47,049.
Upon issuance of the contract, the installation of the generator is expected
within 10-12 weeks. It was disclosed that South Shore Generator was the
low bidder for the project which exceeds the capital improvement program
(CIP)budget of$45,000. The balance of the contract and work required
to complete the additional work, an estimated sum of$10,000 would be
funded through the Town's building and expense budget. Additional work
includes the installation of gas service, construction of a concrete pad and
electrical work. It was noted the Town would also be assuming some of
the work necessary to complete the installation.
Motion made by Selectman Cahalane to accept the bid received from
South Share Generator in the amount of$47,049 to provide and
install a generator system at the Mashpee Town Hall.
Motion seconded by Selectman Taylor.
VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0.
