7 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> September 10, 2007 <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Request of Planning & Construction Committee for Owner's Project <br /> Manager: <br /> Planning and Construction Committee member Steve Cook was in <br /> attendance with Catherine Laurent, Assistant Director of Public Works to <br /> recommend the Selectmen proceed with the process for hiring an.Owner's <br /> Project Manager(OPM) for the design and construction of a new library. <br /> It was noted that a project manager is required under new state law for the <br /> project. Based on the architect's estimate, the planning and design work <br /> will require eleven months to complete. With the completion of final <br /> design, construction is anticipated to begin during the winter of 2008. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Myers to authorize the Planning& <br /> Construction Committee to prepare a Request for Proposal(RFP)to <br /> hire an Owner's Project Manager(OPM)for the design and <br /> construction of a new library. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Green. <br /> VOTE. Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Resolution—Mass Recycles Paver! Campaign: <br /> A Resolution was presented to the Selectmen to support a campaign to <br /> increase paper recycling in Massachusetts. Participating in a statewide <br /> effort will further increase public awareness and provide the Town with <br /> additional resources to use in their campaign. The Resolution will also <br /> refocus attention on Mashpee's recycling program and help to increase <br /> participation among residents and businesses. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cahalane to adopt the Resolution in <br /> Support of the Mass Recycles Paper! Campaign. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Taylor. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br />
