MASHPEE ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS
MEETING MINUTES
MARCH 12, 2025
Attorney Kirrane indicated that his client is willing to install four additional trees for
more screening. Again, there is no requirement in the bylaws. As a gesture of
goodwill, his client is willing to install additional trees as a buffer even though there
is already enough natural buffered vegetation. There is also a proposed stockade
fence being installed around the dumpster, and eight additional parking spaces for
the other contractor bays. These trees will mature and will provide buffered
screening. There should be no debate now of what was done, or what should have
been done.
Mr. Morris mentioned that he read the information submitted regarding the type of
trees that will be installed, and how they will develop over time. He wrote a letter of
his opinion to the Board. As he indicated at the last meeting, the site was developed
in the utmost professional manner.
Mr. Furbush mentioned that he visited the site and noticed that these Eastern White
Pines will mature to 80 ft.
Ms. Sangeleer also visited the site and agreed that the site looks fine.
Attorney Kirrane indicated that these trees will be installed 10-12 ft. apart to provide
the same screening as the Franey building at 52 Mercantile Way. Mr. Kirrane pointed
out the location of the additional trees as shown on the site plan.
Mr. Caggiano asked Attorney Kirrane if there were more trees installed because they
were not 8 ft. apart. Attorney Kirrane said; correct.
Attorney Kirrane stated that this proposal is to provide four additional trees.
Mr. Furbush asked if both dumpsters will have stockade fencing around them.
Mr. Morris mentioned that a dumpster permit is required by the Fire Department,
and/or the Health Department.
Ms. Sangeleer asked for audience comments. She is allowing three minutes for
comments.
9
