l
Finance Committee Minutes
September 16 , 1987
Page 3 .
Carol informed the Committee about the Seamass meeting , that
she and Chairman Heller attended . The diagram illustrated below
was distributed at the meeting illustrating alternatives . There
were three options :
1 . curb side collection by town to regional facility
2 . curb side collection by contractor to regional
facility
3 . individual delivery to transfer station .
It was the consensus of all at the . meeting that the town go to the
transfer station and not go into any other debt . The best route
seemed to be to investigate the transfer station and the flatbeds
to haul garbage to the regional site at Otis . Carol noted that
Seamass wall open in October 1988 and the town has got to get
going on this . ' To date $30 , 000 has been allocated and this is
for the engineering of a transfer station . The DPW will maintain
the landfill at its present site as a collection point .
I
M
Solid Waste Disposal Options
' COLLECTION TRANSPORTATION __4 DISPOSAL
I
DIRECT HAUL
BY TOWN OR
CONTRACTOR
CURB-SIDE L ti RESOURCE
COLLECTION RECOVERY
BY TOWN FACILITY
STATION RANSFER TRANSPORT
BY TOWN 1 TOWN
CURB-SIDE REGIONAL
COLLECTION ► LANDFILL
I
BY CONTRACTOR FACILITY
TRANSFER , TRANSPORT
STATION BY
BY CONTRACTOR CONTRACTOR
INDIVIDUAL
DELIVERY TO
TRANSFER
STATION
FVeston&Sampson Engineers,Inc.
