Board of Selectmen Minutes <br /> March 12,2001 <br /> Page Five. <br /> I <br /> C1P Discussion(continued) <br /> Public Works—6 items-Replace 1972 road grader(yr 3 of 3)at$25,000; 2 %yd Mild. <br /> Loader(yr 2 of 3)at$5,900; 1 ton dump truck at$50,000(delete-rep 94);4 wd pickups <br /> (2) (rep 94)at$66,000; 4 wd truck(rep 91)at $32,000;replace DPW roof at$25,000. <br /> Discussion followed with Greg Taylor regarding how many trucks in the department. <br /> Mr.Taylor explained there are 16 trucks for 17 employees and 21 employees in the <br /> summer. He explained how the trucks are used. They are replacing trucks on a 7-year <br /> basis as they have been doing.for the past ten years so they have vehicles in good <br /> working order. <br /> Selectmen approved, <br /> The Town Administrator brought to the Board's attention a number of building projects <br /> the C1P Committee is in need of additional guidance and direction. <br /> School—5 items. <br /> KC Coombs parking lot at$25,000 for engineering funds to redesign the parking lot. <br /> Quashnet School at$50,000 for sidewalk and curbs. <br /> SPED Van—3-year lease at$15,000. <br /> Personal Computers(200)at$100,000. <br /> The Town Administrator explained the issue on personal computers for$100,000 each <br /> year for 2 years. The School Department has over 500 personal computers purchased at <br /> the same time when they built the high school, which were partially funded by the State. <br /> Every single personal computer needs replacement. The C1P Committee is proposing to <br /> provide some seed money to address the problem the school is facing this year and get a <br /> jump-start on replacing the computers. Chair Leveille asked if the School Department <br /> had an analyst come in to evaluate the computers or if they have done it on their own and <br /> would they be amenable to having an outside consultant come in. The BOS agreed that <br /> when the School Committee comes in they would ask them to bring their data person <br /> with them. <br /> Quashnet School Kitchen at$25,000—replacement of a walk-in refrigerator. <br /> The Town Administrator spoke with the Superintendent and lie would like to address the <br /> Selectmen on the capital issues but could not be at the meeting. <br /> Public Comment: <br /> None at this time. <br /> Mash a Commons—Liquor License Cap: <br /> John Renz,Vice President,Mashpee Commons-Limited Partnership. Mr.Renz informed <br /> the BOS that the Gone Tomatoes restaurant is gone. He has received a lot of interest in <br /> the space but only if they can get a full liquor license and there are none available at this <br /> time. They will convert the old CVS into two spaces and one restaurant is interested but <br /> wants a full liquor license. After that they will introduce one or two more restaurants to <br /> the Commons but no one is interested unless they have a full liquor license. <br /> i <br />
