8 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> April 9, 2001 <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Mass. Department of Environmental Affairs—Community Preservation: <br /> John Lipman, Deputy Director of the Cape Cod Commission and Patti <br /> Kellogg, Cape Cod and Islands Watershed Team Leader were present to <br /> discuss the Community Preservation Initiative reflecting build-out analysis <br /> and the tools available for managing growth and accommodating issues <br /> such as affordable housing, economic development and water resources <br /> protection. <br /> The Community Preservation Act (CPA) is an enabling statute that <br /> provides the authority for communities to establish a local Community <br /> Preservation Fund that derives its revenue primarily from a surcharge on <br /> the community's local property tax. Funds accrued are expended on open <br /> space, historic preservation, and low and moderate income housing. <br /> Informational brochures were presented to the Selectmen and interested <br /> public for review and consideration. <br /> Public Hearing— Seasonal Liquor License Renewals: <br /> Selectman Leveille stepped down for the above referenced hearing. <br /> Selectman Cahalane presided and opened the Public Hearing on the <br /> Seasonal Liquor License Renewals of the following; <br /> Cookes-Mashpee, Inc. —Restaurant- All Alcoholic <br /> Popponesset General Store—Package Store—All Alcoholic <br /> Spenco, Inc. —Restaurant—All Alcoholic <br /> (Entertainment—Recorded Music—Juke Box—No Dancing/No Show) <br /> Raw Bar, Inc. —Restaurant—All Alcoholic <br /> (Entertainment—Recorded Music—Live Music—Dancing by Patrons) <br /> Being no comment,the Board motioned to close the Public Hearing. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Marsters to close the Public Hearing. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Taylor. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Selectman Leveille absent. <br />
