Jim noted that he had also
just received correspondence announcing a meeting entitled
CPR for Local Government , Consolidation, Privatization, and
Regionalization. This meeting is being held by the Joseph
Martin Institute and it will be at Stonehill College next
Tuesday. The cost is $20 . As of 9/1 /92 the
town will begin funding retirement/pension costs for full-
time and part-time staff within grants . He noted also that
Ms . Tavares was to review with the Treasurer' s Office the
health care program and the Treasurer will also coordinate a
meeting between County Retirement people and the Town to
discuss methods to address the years no contribution was made
to the Retirement System.
The Committee addressed new business . There has been a suit
filed against the Water District, however, the town is going
ahead with sending the district bills out with the tax bills.
Jim informed members that there is a delay in the setting of
the tax rate . There is a problem that is being addressed.
Jim noted that if the rate can be set by the beginning of
next week then the Treasurer feels she can get the bills out
by December 1st .
