4 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> August 28, 2000 <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Public Hearin —Mashpee Auto Brokers Transfer of License: (continued) <br /> Mr. Moore is presently the holder of a Class II license and is allowed to <br /> display (1)vehicle at 680 Falmouth Road. With this license, he has two <br /> retail plates. <br /> Mr. Moore requested the Board grant an additional Class II license to <br /> allow him to display (4)vehicles at 681 Falmouth Road, Deer Crossing <br /> located behind the Carbo's Grille and Bar establishment. <br /> The Zoning Board of Appeals granted the Special Permit conditioned that <br /> the applicant shall submit to the Board, proof(in the form of a letter)that <br /> he is giving up all rights, with the exception of the wholesale license, <br /> across the street from Deer Crossing. (Item 7) <br /> I <br /> Mr. Moore indicated that he would surrender his rights as stipulated with <br /> the exception of his wholesale license at 680 Falmouth Road if the Board <br /> of Selectmen approve the application. Mr. Moore indicated that the <br /> license at the location of 680 Falmouth Road would allow two of his <br /> employees to purchase vehicles on a wholesale basis. There would be no <br /> vehicles stored or displayed at 680 Falmouth Road. Mr. Moore stated that <br /> the plates are critical to his wholesale division and that the state would not <br /> give him four plates at 681 Falmouth Road unless he held two licenses. <br /> Selectman Leveille opened the Hearing to obtain comment. <br /> Marjorie Katsoulis, 661 Falmouth Road, an abutter indicated that the <br /> proposed request will add increased traffic congestion and is not in <br /> character with the neighborhood. In concern, Ms. Katsoulis also indicated <br /> that an additional used car dealer may be seeking to establish a car sales <br /> and rental facility near the rotary. <br /> Fred D'Amico, 661 Falmouth Road related concern with respect to <br /> signage and the potential for increased traffic accidents. He asked if there <br /> are restrictions regarding signage requirements. Mr. D'Amico indicated <br /> that there is presently signage congestion with the existing businesses of <br /> Deer Crossing. The Building Inspector will be requested to review this <br /> matter. <br />
