2
Selectman Green: I am not an officer of the corporation in any way. I have already
called the State Ethics and asked them.
Betty Nichols: You stand to gain Chuck...in the long run.
Selectman Green: I stand to gain no more than anyone else in this room from
discussions of a negotiated settlement...I stand to gain no more
than anyone else in this room.
Betty Nichols: I don't believe a word of that...
Selectman Green: What?
Selectman Leveille: Please, anybody who would like to speak, would you please go to
the microphone.
Betty Nichols: I'm just a, mine is only an ethics question, all right?
Selectman Green: Mr. Chairman, as I initially spoke in the past, if Board Members
are uncomfortable with me being here I would leave myself from
the room if that be the wish of the Board.
Selectman Leveille: Well, I don't know how the other Board Members feel, but my
position has been that we have discussed you going to the Ethics
Commission and you did that. Really, what you do and how you
do it.is a matter of personal choice and a matter of personal
evaluation on your part...The other Selectmen agreed.
John Ferguson: Good evening. This is the first time I have heard about the
Tribal Council asking the Selectmen to file a resolution in favor of
the Tribal Council. If...I am dumbfounded. I am almost lost for
words, the Tribal Council in good faith, was supposed to negotiate
with the Selectmen. They went out and had a survey taken for the
Town of Mashpee. Did the Selectmen, may I ask, did they
approve that?
Selectmen: No.
