10 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> September 25, 2000 <br /> COMMUNICATIONS AND CORRESPONDENCE: <br /> Discussion relative to the Tribal Recognition Process: <br /> The Board agreed to place on the next scheduled agenda, the <br /> discussion relative to continued dialogue between the Town and Tribal <br /> Council as it pertains to their petition to the BIA for recognition. Counsel <br /> to represent the Town on BIA rulings will be considered. It was noted that <br /> one of the maps of previous discussion, an original of the Mashpee <br /> Plantation encompassing an area of approximately 50 square miles that <br /> was presented to the BIA as part of the petition, can be located from the <br /> Smithsonian Institute under the Freedom of Information Act. <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Acceptance of Performance Reviews: <br /> Shellfish Constable: <br /> Harbormaster: <br /> Leisure Services Director: <br /> Town Accountant: <br /> Building Inspector: <br /> The above referenced performance reviews were deferred until the next <br /> scheduled Selectmen's Meeting. <br /> Transfer of Land to Water District: <br /> Correspondence was received from Town Counsel dated September 13, <br /> 2000 relative a deed conveying a portion of the `Belcher"property to the <br /> Mashpee Water District. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cahalane to approve the Deed, authorized <br /> in accordance with the vote taken under Article 17 of the warrant for <br /> the October 4, 1999 Town Meeting, to the Mashpee Water District <br /> contingent upon the correct dollar figure of said parcel. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Marsters. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br />
