TOWN OF MASHPEE <br /> PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE <br /> In accordance with Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 130, Section 52, the <br /> Mashpee Board of Selectmen will conduct a public hearing on the Mashpee Shellfish <br /> Regulations, Section III, 3. Scallop Regulations. The following changes regarding <br /> commercial scalloping in Waquoit Bay are proposed. Scallop season is from October <br /> 1 through the following March 31 for commercial and noncommercial scalloping. <br /> Commercial scalloping is not allowed in Waquoit Bay from October 1 through <br /> October 15. Commercial scalloping is allowed in Waquoit Bay from October 16 <br /> through the following March 31. The commercial catch limit is 5 bushels per day in <br /> Waquoit Bay, and 10 bushels per day in other areas open for commercial <br /> shellfishing. A commercial permit holder also holding a noncommercial (family) <br /> permit can take scallops noncommercially (one bushel per week) on Sundays only in <br /> October and November (in Waquoit Bay, and other open areas), but not from <br /> ecember through the following March when commercial shellfishing is allowed 7 <br /> ays per week (in Mashpee). Said hearing will be held on Monday, September 25, <br /> 000 at 6:45 p.m. in Conference Room #1 at Town Hall, 16 Great Neck Road North, <br /> ashpee.
