9 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> October 30, 2000 <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> DiMaggio Complaint Report: (continued) <br /> The Selectmen agreed to revisit the above referenced issue on November <br /> 13, 2000. At this time, a schedule of activities, target dates, and present <br /> status will be further reviewed. <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Acceptance of Bid—Aerial Apparatus: <br /> Fire Chief, George Baker was present to recommend the Board accept the <br /> Aerial Apparatus Platform bid utilizing a construction inspection and <br /> milestone payment program to reduce the purchase price of the vehicle. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Taylor to accept.the bid from Pierce <br /> Manufacturing, Inc. of Wisconsin for the Aerial Apparatus Platform <br /> in the amount of$636,728.00 as recommended. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Marsters. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Fred Blythe—Ballfields Presentation: <br /> Fred Blythe presented a detailed description of Mashpee sites reviewed <br /> as potential athletic ballfields. Sites located at the High School, Sampsons <br /> Mill Road and the Keeter property were considered. It was noted that the <br /> Local Comprehensive Plan has designated the referenced sites for future <br /> athletic playing fields. <br /> The recommendation of the committee designated the Mashpee High <br /> School site as the preferred land selection for athletic ballfields.. Several <br /> advantages include a large town-owned site adjacent to existing playing <br /> fields for shared use and the aspect of a central location. Traffic <br /> signalization and site utilities are existing as is septic treatment. <br /> Two soccer fields and two football/lacrosse fields are envisioned in the <br /> initial proposal. Future site considerations include a pool, hockey rink and <br /> a community building. <br />
