Page 2 <br /> Gallo •seconded the Motion and members voted 4-0 in approval. <br /> Finance Committee members agreed to decide on the final amount to <br /> be transferred on Tuesday, June 22, 1993. <br /> Ms. Greelish asked Mr. Vaccaro whether or not the Selectmen would <br /> be willing to meet with the Finance Committee to discuss the FY94 <br /> budget process. Mr. Vaccaro stated that yes, he did feel it would <br /> be helpful if he, Mr. whritenour and Mr. Goggin meet to discuss the <br /> structuring of the budget process. Ms. Greelish mentioned that it <br /> was a suggestion of Denise Sullivan that the articles be handled <br /> and discussed first. <br /> Mr. Goggin inquired about the Computer Committee. Mr. Vaccaro <br /> indicated that there was a meeting being set up for next week with <br /> Digital to review the software. He stated that this would be on <br /> the fast track because they needed to know what the cost would be <br /> to the town and what the town needed to do. <br /> There was also a request made by Personnel that a transfer be made <br /> from the Reserve Fund to the Personnel Expense Account in the <br /> amount of $3,500. The amount is necessary to pay a bill received <br /> from John J. Barry, Ph.D. Deirdre Greelish MOTIONED to transfer <br /> $3 ,500 to the Personnel Expense Account for the purpose of paying <br /> the doctor bill. Tony Gallo seconded the Motion and members voted <br /> 4-0. <br /> Tony Gallo inquired as to whether or not it would be possible to <br /> consolidate the police and fire departments to be controlled by one <br /> person, a Commissioner of Public Safety. Ms. Greelish mentioned <br /> that towns are given grants for the purpose of trying these types <br /> of things. Mr. Gallo also asked if the Finance Committee would be <br /> involved with negotiations. Ms. Greelish mentioned that if there <br /> was one Commissioner for both departments, then both buildings <br /> could be fully utilized. <br /> Members discussed the October 13 , 1992 meeting. Ms. Greelish <br /> mentioned that it was a good idea to keep the public informed and <br /> to get them thinking before the October meeting. <br /> LIAISON ASSIGNMENTS <br /> Members discussed their assignments. All members agreed that <br /> another member was needed. Each member presently has quite a <br /> number of departments that they are liaison to. It was mentioned <br /> that when another member was appointed it would lighten the load a <br /> little. Mr. Goggin asked recording secretary to send a memo along <br /> with liaison assignments to each department, asking each department <br /> to call their liaison should there be any problems. <br /> Mr. Goggin mentioned that Diane Rommelmeyer could not attend the <br /> meeting tonight, but she did prepare for the committee a Statement <br /> of Available Revenues.
