What is not used of the <br /> $5,000 presently in the account will revert back to the General <br /> Fund. Ms. Greelish asked if there was a charge for the tours? Mr. <br /> Sherman answered no. He mentioned that the town is trying to build <br /> up a clientele. <br /> PERSONNEL <br /> Marilyn Farren was present at the meeting on behalf of the <br /> Personnel Department. Mr. Goggin stated that when the Finance <br /> Committee last met with the Personnel Board, they were content with <br /> the Finance Committee recommending a clerk to assist Ms. Farren. <br /> He asked if the Board still felt that a part time clerk would be <br /> sufficient? Ms. Farren indicated that the Personnel Board is not <br /> in favor of the hiring of a Human Resource Director. Ms. Farren <br /> referring to her memo indicated that the Personnel Board was only <br /> in favor of one reclassification and that position was for the <br /> Assistant Town Accountant. Ms. Farren stated that at the meeting <br /> the previous evening with the. Board of Selectmen, all of the <br /> reclassifications had been pulled. Ms. Farren stated that the <br /> Personnel Board was recommending full time status for the <br /> Harbormaster. Ms. Sullivan mentioned that she had met with Ms. <br /> Farren prior to this meeting and they agreed to reduce hours for <br /> certain board secretaries. Ms. Farren stated that her budget <br /> included a floating clerk and an administrative clerk. Both were <br /> 18 hour positions. The floating administrative clerk would work in <br /> the Personnel office 2 to 3 days per week and float the other days. <br /> Ms. Sullivan brought up the 35 hour v. 40 hour work week. Ms. <br /> Farren stated that it was brought to the attention of the Board of <br /> Selectmen. She stated that the PAP indicates that salaried <br /> employees are expected to work 40 hours per week, with no paid <br /> lunch hour. Ms. Farren asked what the Finance Committee were <br /> recommending? Ms. Greelish indicated that the Finance Committee's <br /> budget also did not include a Human Resource Director. The <br /> Committee began asking her questions involving employees in the <br /> Town Clerk's Office, and so Ms. LaBute, Town Clerk, also joined in <br /> on the discussion. Ms. LaBute stated that the only reason for the <br /> petition article last October Town Meeting was because nobody would <br /> listen to her. She had an employee who had been working in her <br /> office for 5 years without any type of increase in step or grade. <br /> Her function, according to the Town Clerk, is to do her job when <br /> Ms. LaBute cannot be there. <br /> Mr. Goggin asked if the Town Clerk would maintain her part time <br /> position, her full time position plus herself? She indicated that <br /> there were not enough funds for both the part time and full time. <br /> The Board of Selectmen asked her if she would consider funding her <br /> full time clerk as grade 10 for 20 hours? Mr. Goggin mentioned <br /> that was a move from a grade 2 to a grade 10. Ms. Farren also <br />
